Cottage Vintage Home 1st Sunday Flea Market July 7th Line up......

With  the Uber Chic container sale under my belt it's now time to concentrate on the Cottage Vintage Home 1st Sunday Vintage Flea Market being held on July 7.

The line up is looking VERY good with my special guest Lisa Love Harris, author, who will be at my flea market signing her book,  First Monday Murder.  Along with Lisa, there will be 29 dealers selling their great vintage treasures.  The list is a long one and you can view who is coming by visiting my Facebook page, Cottage Vintage Home.

I look forward to seeing you all there.

Also, don't forget that the Recycled Arts Fair is this coming weekend at Esther Short Park.  It centers around all things recycled, repurposed and reused.  Cottage Vintage Home has participated for 3 years now and I will be there this year with my spoon jewelry, scrabble tile pendants and, new this year, some pallet tables and other furniture.

See you there, 10 to 5 Saturday and Sunday.

I Don't Even Want To Say This, But................Another Date Change, Yes, Another One

As I was shopping at Nordstrom today, I received a phone call from Dustin of Uber Chic.  Guess what he told me?  What, you can't guess?  Well, let me tell you..................

The container will NOT be ready by June 14.  What?!!! I said.  No way is this happening....again.  But yes, it was and is happening again.

The new dates are June 21 and 22.  Hopefully, this is far enough away that Customs will have done everything they need and want to do with container by then.  Let's hope so.

So change your calendar again and we'll see you at Cottage Vintage Home on June 21 and 22 in wonderful Vancouver, Wa.  Call me before you come if you like, (360) 721-9980.

Thank you for all your understanding and patience...

UBER CHIC SALE......JUNE 7 & 8

It's finally here, the week of the infamous UBER CHIC CONTAINER SALE at my shop, Cottage Vintage Home.  It takes place on June 7 & 8, that's Friday and Saturday of this coming week.

The stage is set for great weather and fun times.  European goodies will be available to see, touch and buy so don't be late and plan to shop, shop, shop.....it all starts at 9:00 AM.

JUNE 2........COTTAGE VINTAGE HOME 1ST SUNDAY VINTAGE FLEA MARKET.

Well, here we are again getting ourselves all geared up for the June 2 flea market at my shop Cottage Vintage Home.  The weather has agreed to cooperate so I'm not very worried about that.  The wind should not be an issue so I'm not worried about that either.....THANK GOD!!!!

I have many new things that I will have at the flea market.  Even though my shop will be open, please be sure to look around outside the shop for some larger items that I will have for sale.  Big industrial carts and such are not to be missed and at prices that, dare I say, are very resonable.

So please come on out and support these dealers because we are doing this for Vancouver and trying to bring some excitement alittle closer to home.  It starts at 10 and goes until 3.

Get Ready for 1st Sunday Vintage Flea Market.......At Cottage Vintage Home June 2

Well, as things continue to progress here at Cottage Vintage Home,  I am once again in preparation mode for the second in a series of flea markets I am having at my shop.

On June 2, I will be hosting 20 wonderful dealers at my 1st Sunday Vintage Flea Market.  The first one was such a raving success that I can only hope that this one is as well received.  No doubt, it will
be.

The weather has agreed to behave so maybe we won't have so much wind....keep your fingers crossed.  But by all means, please make a point to join us from 10 to 3.

In other new, Theresa Souder-Gordon of Fresh Picked has officially moved into my shop. Her space looks amazing and it carrys a theme that is fun and sassy.  Come take a look at her treasures before they are all gone.

As most of you know, when I opened my store a year ago I had done so without anyone dealers renting space from me.  Well, then I added Chris Kuntz and her Art Circus into my mix offering classes to my customer base and intoducing new customers to my store, too.  Then Theresa has now been thrown into my mix as a fresh face, if you will, for my customers, as well as, her followers being intoduced to Cottage Vintage Home.  I see this as a win-win.

I am delighted to have both these ladies in my shop and I hope that I can help them build their business', too.  So get on down here and take a look at all the great items we now have to offer at Cottage Vintage Home.  I'd love to meet you.

1st Sunday Vintage Flea Market.......ROARING SUCCESS

Cottage Vintage Home is proud to announce that my first flea market was a grand success.  We had 18 lovely vintage dealers that put there best foot forward in presenting great vintage treasures of all types.

It wasn't that we didn't have our challenges, however.  The wind was relentless and the canopies blew off like they were tissue but overall the dealers dealt with it as best they could and carried on.

My next flea market is scheduled for June 2.  10 to 3 but come early as we have a tendency to begin selling before that.  Lookers are always welcome.  There will be many dealers that will be returning, as well as, some new ones.  Three (3) food vendors, Enchanted Teas, Dolce Gelato and Igloo.  Such fun and community spirit.

Come on out and make a day of it.  The location address is Cottage Vintage Home at 2819 East Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver, Wa.  98661.  Any questions please call (360) 721-9980.

We Had A Sneek Peek Of Spring....

I guess we got alittle spoiled with the nice weather we had for a couple of days.  It really got me thinking about Spring and all that comes with it.  My son and sister both have their birthdays on March 20.  This is a constant reminder to me that good things are just down the path and that I shouldn't get too discouraged when the weather throws us a grey day like today.
There are lots of great things happening at my shop, too.  First Sunday Vintage Flea Markets begin of May 5.  Each month there will be a sale in my parking lot with up to 20 hand picked dealers of vintage merchandise.  The hours are 10 to 3 and I am hoping that everyone come out to support this endeavor as I am trying to bring alittle excitement to Vancouver.  Stay tuned here for all updates on who is going to be participating in these markets, as well as, the Uber Chic container sale happening in May on the 24the and 25th.

Viva la France

My tickets are purchased and the apartment is rented.....off to France I go.

Yes, my friends, I am going to Paris on April 19the and will be doing lots and lots of shopping for trinkets and tresures to bring home.  Not only will I be shopping for me personally but also for my shop.

Let's see now, what could I possibly do with all these items once they are here with me?  Have a brocante, of course.  A little flea market sale at the shop for all my friends and customers who follow my blog and Facebook page.

So keep visiting them both for updates, etc. as to when the brocante will happen.

Also, the Uber Chic container sale is on May 24 and 25.  We have not settled on the time of this sale but that, too will be posted here and on Fabcebook.

My Cottage Vintage Home Store

Any of you recognize this place?  This is my shop, Cottage Vintage Home.  We are located in Vancouver, Wa. just on the other side of the Reserve from downtown.

Why locate somewhere other than the downtown area, you ask?  Well, look at this building.  How cute is this.  Granted the color scheme is not "shabby chic" but what the heck.  The street appeal is great, the parking lot, huge and I love the way it looks inside.

When I decided to open Cottage Vintage Home, the downtown area didn't have any spaces that would be "cute" enough for my shop.  I didn't want a strip mall scenario nor did I want to be just filling another space among offices, etc.  I wanted to have something different.  Thus, this house.

Located in the Hudson's Bay neighborhood, this house has been many different types of business' over the past 10 years but never a retail store.  So if you have ever driven thru this neighborhood and have been curious about what's going on inside, please stop on in and have a browse around the shop.
Our address is 2819 East Evergreen Blvd. and we would love to see you.  Hours are 11 to 5 Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.  Friday and Saturday, 10 to 5.

I will be taking part in 1 vintage show per month so the store will be closed 1 weekend per month unless otherwise posted.  Please check back on my blog or Facebook to see which weekend that will be but even if you the shop isn't open you can find me at the show selling my treasures.  You can always call me, too, at (360) 721-9980.

Hope to see you all soon at the Cottage Vintage Home store.

Uber Chic is coming to Cottage Vintage Home

And you know what THAT means.........container sale!!!!!  Yes, Christian and Dustin have committed to doing two shows at my store, Cottage Vintage Home, in 2013.

One sale will take place in May and the other one in September.  I wan to put on a small vintage flea market along with the sale in September so if anyone is interested let me know.

But the most exciting part of all this is that those of us who LOVE Uber Chic will not have to feel left out since they do alot of their sales in California.  Right here in little old Vancouver we will be able to buy French treasures until we can't buy anymore.

So please check back often and I will update you on the actual dates and times.  The sales are Fridays and Saturdays so make plans now.  If you have any questions please send me a email

Old Hardware Store Counter

For those of you who were lucky enough to see this beauty in person.....you got a treat.  If you didn't see it in my shop and you didn't see it at this summer's Barn House sale then you REALLY missed out.  It was a vintage hardware store counter that was the most wonderful piece I have had.  The patina was exceptional, the cubby holes were actually a size that you could use and the color, oh the color.  A beautiful green.  My point to all of this is that even a piece like this can be used for many different things around your home.  Don't be afraid of size.  This one was purchased and the gentleman is now using it as a storage unit in his garage.  When you are out looking for goodies and you run across a piece that is soooo special that you can't pass it up, just look at the piece with different eyes.  Open your mind to different uses other than its intended one.  If you love it, you'll make it work.  Happy hunting.....
